Mainīt informāciju
Description
On a white disc edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) white border, the overall diameter 2 3/4 (6.99cm), a blue galleon with a red Maltese cross on the sail, riding on a blue wave line.

Symbolism
The colors, galleon, Maltese cross and wave line are taken from the design elements of the shoulder sleeve insignia authorized the former United States Army Forces Southern Command. The galleon is symbolic of the Caribbean Area. This type of ship is usually associated with the Caribbean Area since it predominated during the Spanish regime. The white background represents exploration of the New World. The Maltese cross was the insignia of Columbus, the first explorer to land in the Caribbean Area.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 30 Dec 1982. (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-679)
