To change information
The Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) manufactured by Gentex is based on the latest performance and configuration requirements of the U.S. Army for increased ballistic performance, impact resistance, stability, comfort and other protective upgrades over the previously issued PASGT helmet. A modified version of the helmet is available incorporating an X Harness™ retention for improved stability.
When compared to the PASGT, the ACH is lighter in weight, includes ballistic hardware, and incorporates an improved pad suspension (in various thicknesses) and 4-point retention for added comfort and stability. A higher side trim improves headset interface, situational awareness and aids in determining directionality of sound. A modified front trim provides a better interface with goggles, sighting systems and look up capability.
The 4-point H-style retention helps reduce forward rotation when wearing NVGs. A Gentex X Harness 4-point retention is also available as an approved U.S. Army option providing even greater stability and reduced forward rotation.
The pad suspension kit supplied with the ACH consists of 1 crown pad, 4 lateral pads and 2 front and rear pads. The pads are 3/4-inch thick and are water resistant.
An H Harness retention system supplied with the U.S. Army ACH attaches at 4 points to the shell with ballistic resistant hardware. Adjustment slides are located on both the front and rear of the retention, adjustment for proper fit and stability.
The helmet shell and retention components are foliage green 504. Maximum helmet weight in ounces (oz.) is: Small - 47 oz., Medium - 49 oz., Large - 53 oz., and
X-Large - 62 oz.
Optional components available from Gentex include the X Harness™ retention, adjustable pad suspension, night vision goggle brackets, helmet covers, Ballistic Optical Armor (BOA®) and EPS-21™ eye protective goggles, and GenCom III™, GDH headsets, a ballistic maxillofacial shield, and a ballistic ocular shield.
