About the project Worldmilitary

The World Military encyclopedia is an illustrated catalog and encyclopedia of military symbols, decorations and distinctions, uniforms, military equipment, personal protective equipment, and much more.

The encyclopedia primarily covers the modern period, from 1990 to the present. However, the time limits of the project are conditional. In some cases, individual sections or information and materials may include objects (such as things, symbols, drawings, etc.) from an earlier period. These earlier periods are covered due to their direct or indirect connection to the modern period. For example, items of ammunition made in the mid-1980s and still widely used today are included.

The topics covered by the encyclopedia also include interior and special forces, special units, and divisions that are part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Service, and intelligence agencies involved in the protection of paramilitary borders.

The encyclopedia does not include information on firearms, bladed weapons, or their related equipment. This exclusion is due to the project's narrower specialization. It also does not include information about objects or items related to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, or customs authorities—except for interior troops, special forces, agencies, and services responsible for protecting external borders, which are part of these organizations.

The encyclopedia is based on the principles of maximum completeness of information and knowledge, as well as an open and democratic way of forming its content. Any registered user can take part in the World Military encyclopedia.

The principle of maximum completeness is achieved by creating a separate entry, or "card," for each object. Each "card" includes a comprehensive image of the object uploaded by the user and any relevant information about it, such as its name, official documents, dimensions, and weight.

The World Military encyclopedia will be interesting and helpful to a wide audience, including military collectors, experts, professionals, students, cadets of military schools, and ordinary internet users.

The World Military encyclopedia is a young project, so any suggestions, comments, or criticisms are welcome. You can always write to us.

Yours sincerely,
Administration of the project Encyclopedia World Military
