A shield-shaped embroidered item with a semi-circular base edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, 1 7/8 inches (4.76 cm) in width and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in height overall, consisting of a background divided vertically scarlet to left and ultramarine blue to right, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) counterchanged border and divided at the horizontal center line with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) white bar conjoined to a white triangle centered vertically throughout point to base. The beret flash was approved on 21 March 1988.

An oval-shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, 1 3/8 inches (3.49 cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width overall, consisting of a background divided vertically scarlet to left and ultramarine blue to right edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) counterchanged border and divided at horizontal center line with a white bar conjoined to a white triangle centered vertically point to base. The background trimming was approved on 21 March 1988.
